Workdays at York Scout Activity Centre

York Scout Activity Centre relies on the support of volunteers to help maintain, improve and develop the site. Our regular workdays are a great opportunity for anyone to come along, lend a hand and be part of the ongoing development of the centre.

Whether you are a Scout leader, parent, volunteer, former Scout, local resident or simply someone who enjoys being outdoors, everyone is welcome to join in.

What Happens on a Workday?

Workdays involve a range of tasks around the site. Some jobs are big projects, while others are simple tasks that help keep the centre looking great and running smoothly.

Typical workday activities may include:

• Maintaining woodland paths and activity areas

• Repairing and improving buildings and structures

• Building new activity features

• Painting, clearing and general maintenance

• Preparing areas for future developments

There are always jobs suitable for different skills and abilities — and no previous experience is needed.
